Title Corporate Accountant Overview Reporting to the Manager, Consolidations and Financial Reporting, the Corporate Accountant role is responsible for the efficient delivery and reporting of financial services. The Corporate Accountant is also actively involved in continuously improving this process. This position plays a key role in both the corporate accounting and consolidation processes. Accountabilities •Month-end journal entries including entries related to bank transactions, foreign exchange, debt, monthly accruals, mill charge-outs, and general/administrative expenses. •Assist with foreign exchange revaluations of trial balances •Ensures intercompany accounts are reconciled. Coordinate with mills when intercompany accounts are out of balance. •Monthly legal entity accounting for sales companies and partnerships. •Monthly sales accounting including posting correcting entries and preparing reconciliations to COPA vs. FI. •Responsible for sales and inventory continuity files. •Monthly account reconciliations for bank accounts, inter-company accounts and miscellaneous accruals, etc. •Prepares the consolidated accounts payable schedule and various other supporting schedules. •Preparing EBITDA reconciliation for sales and quality claims. •Coordinates the non-residential withholding tax remittances. •Reconciling treasury cash to GL cash balance. •Organizing quarterly and year end reporting packages for external auditors. •Supports the quarterly public reporting process. •Assists with the preparation of monthly board report package. •Assist with the preparation of legal entity statements as well as prepare supporting tax working papers. •Preparing monthly summary schedules of inventories, accounts payable, prepaid insurance and working capital and various other supporting schedules. •Support and assist other accounting team members as required Requirements/Skills •A degree in Business or Accounting/Finance •Completed or currently enrolled in a recognized accounting program (CPA designation) •3 - 5 years of relevant accounting experience •Self-motivated and proactive attitude •Excellent team player Advanced Excel skills •Exposure to SAP would be considered an asset •Excellent communication skills - verbal and written If you match the skills and attributes listed above, we want to talk to you!
